A Walk Down Memory Lane: EDM Oldies Pt. 1

With the explosion of Electronic dance music happening only a few years ago, the majority of listeners have no memories of some of the most popular electronica pioneers of the early 2000’s. The days of Diplo and Dillon Francis had yet to be born and the mainstream massives wouldn’t be popular for another six years. These are the early days of the new millennium – where we were chatting on AIM instead of Facebook messenger and frosting our hair tips was the only way to achieve the equivalent sexiness of a Backstreet boy. Other things with honorable mentions include girls wearing ties, Sunny D commercials, and Lindsay Lohan’s acting career.  In celebration that you didn’t have to dial up your internet to read this, let’s re-visit some of the best times of our lives with 5 electronica artists of the early 2000’s.

Crazy Frog

It’s one of the most annoying, yet catchy songs in the history of songs featuring a creepy little frog in an aviator helmet. If it wasn’t one of your friend’s ringtones, it was playing on a commercial between your cartoons. Crazy Frog brought us Axel F, which reached the number one spot in Turkey, New Zealand, Australia and most of Europe. The annoying animated frog also spawned a range of merchandise, toys, and two video games over the next ten years.
