HALLOWEEN! One of the greatest holidays there is. No familial obligations, awkward small talk with relatives while desperately trying to pretend you’re not drunk, or gifts to buy, plus the costumes; oooooh man the costumes! One of the best parts of it is that the dress up aspect urges promoters to bring out their best and brightest, and BC definitely delivered. From the weird, to the upbeat, to everything in between, we have your Halloweekend covered! 1. Bling Out Your Dead feat ILL PHIL (UK) + Average Gypsy (VAN) and Jennay Badger Reliable Entertainment is a name synonymous with the absolute MOST. The most unique artists, many of them for their first time through our city (this event is an example of that!), and the production matches the high calibre of artists to create an experience one has to be there to believe. This time around they’re offering prizes for the most blinged out costume and of course, those sexy beats we all need! Ill Phil is a master, an OG of the bass house scene before it was a scene, with roots landing in garage. Average Gypsy is a touring act out of Vancouver who totally destroyed their last Victoria appearance. Warming the night up is hometown hero and fast rising star Jennay Badger, who’s soulful house grooves and whatever else this firecracker chooses to play will set the tone for the best night ever! Tickets are available here and check out the event hyperlink! 2. Breaks-O-Ween 4 feat Stickybuds (KEL) and Flavours (EDM) Breaks-O-Ween is slowly becoming an institution in Vancouver for Halloween. Bringing the best in breakbeat talent thanks to our homies at Digital Motion Events, along with their friends Twisted Events and of course, Danio Management, and their Subculture Saturdays series. We welcome back ghetto-funk master and all around cool dude Stickybuds, and Edmonton talent Flavours on that warm up. We guaranteeif you like it broken, this is the place to be, no questions about it. Taking place at the famed Red Room Ultra Bar, it’s certainly going to be a vibrant night. Nightmare Masquerade: The Second Coming Draw up the curtain of Night with us on Friday October 27th with exceptional music producers and DJs to keep you dancing the night away until the sun comes up, plus a Caravan of Creeps caper and cavort, and fire and flow artists that will keep the darkness at bay. There is also a treasure to the person who comes best dressed. Featuring an all star lineup of Victoria locals, this is a surefire way to dance til dawn while keeping warm! Jamie Gib 26 years old, with a voracious appetite for bass, dancing, all things art, and a flair for the dramatic, Jamie Gib grew up in the rave scene, having been introduced to electronic music in the late 90s as a small child from his cousin and he joined the rave scene in 2004, and never looked back, A DJ, Promoter, Go-Go Dancer, and writer, Jamie has made his mark on the Vancouver Island scene and beyond, having worked or attended 90% of the festivals on the Pacific North West and has no plans on stopping there. If there’s dirty house, drum n bass or glitch hop to be heard, you can bet he’s not far behind.
